This is a good resource for cable size by lengths and antennas.

The 900mhz band is FCC regulated to a max output of 1 watt as it is a license free band. That means that you cannot legally boost the signal past 1 watt output... It also means that coax quality and type is very important it limit line loss from the radio to the antenna.
