Subject: Exactly!

Bethany, MO

vickruse - 5/13/2014 18:03 I understand the frustration of those who have not turned a wheel yet. In our area most are done or soon will be. But more times then not we are too wet every spring. I have never taken PP but many around here have many times, some who farm too much and some who just could not get it planted on time. I have planted corn in mid April and been rained out six weeks until June. I have seen corn planted June 22nd and beans planted July 16th just a few years back. One year I planted all beans because we did not get in until June. But some guys who planted corn June 16th got very good yields that year. That is farming.

And that is what land values, whether buying, selling or renting, should be based on.  Not what welfare program it will qualify for.  I love the 3 part decisions being pondered above, "Should I plant corn, beans or take PP?"
