Central Minnesota | There's way to many people who abuse it... Way to many! A few guys in this area have done it now, and then they laugh about it. I'm not a fan of PP at all. I had 2% of my acres last year go to PP. But those acres are ones that even after July 4th I wouldn't have been able to plant them. I feel that's legit.
You have fertilizer on it. And no matter what, can't do it. Ok, understandable. You spray preemerge on it, just to claim it as corn PP... You should be screwed.
I have no time for guys who run around and play the system like that and don't put an effort into it. One of the guys in this area PP a bunch just because it was getting to late for him, and he had other "obligations" that he had to take care of, so he chose not to plant, and go do his other things. (play things).
If you can't handle the acres you have, then allow some up coming young farmer to have a few of them rather than run that rent way up there, and then you can't even do the job.
