Pvafarm - 5/8/2014 20:34 FWIW Buctril is not a preemerge product nor does it have residual activity. And im not sure why the op thinks dicamba is less of a danger to neighboring fields than 2,4-D. Both are volatile phenoxy herbicides.

I don' think dicamba is a phenoxy -- that term only applies to 2,4-D and MCP.  Anyway, dicamba is far less hazardous to nearby cotton than 2,4-D would ever be.  And if it's the heavier Clarity-type dicamba, it's very low volatility.  Now if we're talking nearby soybeans, then the answer is the opposite (light dicamba more hazardous than 2,4-D vapors by far).
