Our goal is to always spray black dirt. Not weeds. I never want anything like the guys to the south, so even though our weed pressure is minimal we have 3+ mos in corn and beans. Pre's on everything, residual herbicides. Its basically to the point where we don't scout weeds, simply spray by the calendar. Our soy pre goes on after planting but still pre emerge.
Question for those that do tillage or used to do tillage on soybeans
