Subject: Popup starter in warm soils does it pay $$$??!!!

North Central Indiana

Does it pay to use popup in warm soils if you run 28% beside the row?  I have ran it all my life in several different forms and lots of different analysis and I am starting to question whether it pays with $5 corn when planting in the middle of May. I know it pays early but will it now? I always use and it makes me feel fuzzy inside because it's "going the extra mile" but is it worth it?   I am tired of different companies telling me their product  is the best and giving me glossy pamphlets but none of them can consistantly show me data where farmers have tested it.  If it works consistantly, then why is everyone always looking for something better?  I am tempted to ditch it using it since the ground is warm and save my $$$.  What do you think and what have you seen?  My mind is open.  Thanks!
