Subject: RE: Question for sgroff, other covercrop experts

no welfare payments on this farm!!!!!!!!
with everyone cussing the wind out west i would use that wind. I would watch the wind forcast and work the ground the day before the wind or at least forcast of 20 mph winds. and spread your mix with fert and seed right after the disc. be sure to throw some water in that fert before adding them seeds. then spread and watch the wind blow. it will amaze you what that wind will do to cover those seeds and after the first rain you will have a stand. I planted 100% of my covers like this for 4 years. note I have found the deeper you plant the covers, the less they do and harder they are to kill. Good luck
