My dad said that, "If there was ever an 100 ba corn crop, it was 1939." The next year he bought a New Idea 2 row pulled corn picker.
Yeah, hybrids came on in the 1930s. My dad raised some seed corn for a short while.
I still remember the hanging wooden slatted boxes for op corn seed storage.
