SE Wyoming | Didn't want to hijack the post below. I bought a truck. It weighs upwards of 5000 lbs. I bought it to drive daily, pull a trailer, haul my kids around. It gets 14 miles per gallon. I am fine with that. It's better than any truck I've ever had, and better than just about anyone's truck I know around here. Only one that's ever gotten better was a 94 Dodge Cummins 2wd, but that's another story.
My point is, if I wanted economy, I'd have bought something with economy in mind. We were talking about this at the shop yesterday. My reply was if you can afford a $50,000 pickup then the cost of the fuel to run it should be a non issue. As for mpg promises, someone posted a link on here once about how they derived that info. Slow speeds, level terrain, no wind, 70 degree weather. Almost none of that is ever present "here".
