Son farms some ground about 30 miles south of me (60 miles SW of Houston) and he had a 2.5" rain two weeks ago. Corn looking pretty good there. But that rain was a narrow strip and dumped lots of hail as it came thru. Luckily the hail was gone by the time it got to his fields. You ain't got to drive very far to get out the 'nice' area.
