Texas

We ran a D8 with a three shank ripper along the field edges on a ranch east of Lubbock, TX to try and stop the pasture from blowing.  Ripped it 3 feet deep and made two passes which helped for a few days.  The rips were so deep we had cows getting caught in them and struggling to get back on top.  In most places after about 4 weeks you can hardly see where the ripper ran.  It just blows back full from the constant wind and no rain.  The pasture is gone and nearly bare ground in lots of places.  What isn't bare is getting covered with blow sand and the 5 barb fences are now three barbs in the ground.  We have several miles of fence that is close to getting completely buried.  All this has happened in the last two months.
