Eastern Iowa | Cold and wet. No till cornstalk ground is the worst. Frost was deep and came out late, blanket of residue is keeping ground cold and clammy before the 3" of rain we got in the last 2 days. Soil has no load carrying capacity. As others have said mush. Need heat and none is forecast. Some have a fair amount of corn in and some have not started. Corn that is planted will be very very slow to emerge. Rain forecast 6/7 days. | |
