southern MN | You are anyhow 50% right. ;) They got the info data base by gathering it from everyone for free, now charging to give it back. How business works, but just kinda funny.
Mother Nature seems to control our yields the past 5 years. Is this stuff more helpful under irrigation perhaps, where that factor is less of the end result?
With all the research, all the thick books and all the test plots, seems there really are only 4 different corn seeds that work well for our region.
Doing variable rate fertilizer the past 4 years, seems there are really just a few blend patterns to actually pick from its not all spoon fed to the square foot.
Likewise, I would guess a planter have a few different rates, and if you are 36 or 48 rows you are on a pretty big block.
Then Mother Nature does something different, and all the planning goes out the window, we get what we can salvage from the year.....
It is all going to help bump up yields, it is the future, and I'm not against it.
Probably a smaller deal that it is made out to be tho, might be a little advertising involved in the promotion of it.....
