east central MO | Yes Simazine is a kissing cousin to Atrazine (they are in the same chemical family). Your original question is how does it kill? It is a root uptake chemical and then kills the weeds internally. We use it in the fall going to corn. We are allowed to use it instead of atrazine because it doesn't move in the ground water like atrazine does. It is a good addition to spike anything that u use atrazine in because it doesn't count towards your total pounds of atrazine in that crop year. | |
