I agree with above posters. If you are running a chopping cornhead there will a lot more residue to blow around. I have been stripping into cornstalks for a couple years now and have had excellent luck running a Case 3400 series non chopping head. My personal feeling is leave the stalks 8 to 10 inches tall as they act like a snow fence to keep residue from blowing. You will still get some residue on the strip but that's what the residue managers on the planter are for.
