Formerly NE North Dakota, now NW MN | I'm no expert, probably shouldn't even say, but if I was going to smoke the top off with gramoxone only a few days after spraying r-up, I would go with a really high rate of pmax to try to get as much into the roots before toasting the tops. I don't know how true it is, but weed people talk about the translocation being interrupted. Not sure what you have for cover but there's also the issue of some plants exuding r-up from their roots when dying. No clue what does it (I think rye?) or if it hurts rr beans (prolly not) but comes to mind as a concern if spraying high rates of pmax.
Just throwin another idea out there- I've always had fast kills from liberty?....
Edit to add: make sure to read no soil disturbance's post a little further down in this thread
