We actually never did do the second inch of water between the chiseled rows as it would still be soaking in... Mike our camera guy left his camcorder set up at that site while we went off and did a few more tests on the other notill ground.
Absolutely amazing the differences. NT soil was super crumbly, loaded with red worms and nightcrawler burrows all over. Go across the road to chisel plow ground and we found one red worm and platey soil with little structure. And that ground isnt abused or overworked, just standard tillage. Be nice if bb940p could get some still shots from mikes camcorder showing the differences in soil health and post them here.
And for the record the tilled ground was a Del Rey silt loam and most of the rest was a Milford silty clay loam.
