Michigan | In my opinion on our soils I think the rolling baskets create a better seedbed, cause less compaction, and work in a wider variety of conditions. However we still have both and I prefer the packer in stony conditions as well extremely dry conditions with bad clods. In both those situations the rolling baskets seem to flip every rock or hard clod to the top, whereas the packer will smash the rocks down or break the very hard rock like clods and firm the powdery soil. | |
