Subject: RE: Sludge Lime

Summit County, Ohio
I have used quite a bit of sludge lime from a local water treatment plant, if that is the case and it is coming from several different ponds take a sample and get it tested I found that as the ponds changes so did the chemistry. I can assume it will be around 50% water, so if the pond has been out of use for a while it will spread very nice. As the previous poster said it will change the PH faster than the usual dry lime that is used. All in all its ok, for me its very cheap & often times free as they need farms to spread it on.
