If he did what I do you make sure the planter is the first thing in the field. I no tilled with a Planter into standing golden rod. it was a fallow 35 acre piece that was involved in an estate fight. I couldn't plant until June 23rd last year. I decided to plant it first, spray it, lime, fertilize it, all within a couple days in that order. I attached two photos. The one is just after emergence.(you can row it if you look hard) The second is the first week of September. It made 30 bushel, which surprised me. More importantly than the money was being able to prove to my father and the rest of the farmers in the area that said I was an idiot for doing it that way. I'm still an idiot, just not for that reason.
