west central wisconsin

Wef have heavy soils, and have used 2, 3, and 4 inch.  Our favorite is the 2 inch heavy spike.  They move the least residue, and last the longest.  We tend to chisel plow deep, kinda more like ripping, or a cross between the two.  If we hold our speed down, the 2 inch spikes leave a fairly level surface, compared to the 4 inch twisted.  As with most things, it is different for everyone, here, we have mostly HEL, heavy soils.
