central - east central Minnesota -

eweland - 4/23/2014 11:09 Hi all, I'm looking for ideas/opinions/information on no-tilling. I have been looking at doing it for some time and am looking for thoughts on planter setup, ways to apply fert, and even if it will work in my situation. That being said I am a dairy farmer and almost all My crop land goes to forage production (silages and dry hay). I would very rarely be planting into any large amount if trash. My main worry is compaction from chopping and how to deal with it. Anyone who has good ideas I'm all ears, if anyone is doing this in MN, WI, or ND is love to hear thoughts. TIA.

How do you handle your livestock manure ?

Quick thought - strip tillage ?
