South Carolina | We've used this for over 10 years. First it was given to us because the water company was happy to get rid of it instead of paying the landfill to dump it. We went through a pile of paper work and jumped through hoops to get the Health Dept to approve it. Like I said, first it was free. Then they started charging us a little. Then they started charging us a lot. Then they told us it wasn't fair to sell it to just us and now we don't get anymore. We sent off lots of samples. The Nitrogen is very slow. Very slow. But cobb4020 is right. You can tell a difference where it is put out and where it is not, and wherever the piles are will always be a good spot. I always tried to look at the Nitrogen content as a bonus to what ever else you put out. To make the Nitrogen level significant, you would have to put out so much that you couldn't because your Phosphorus levels will be too high. The Phosphorus is the main thing by a long shot. After years and years of using it, our Phoshorus levels are off the chart. We can't take anymore Phosphorus. The amount of metal, lead, etc. that came back in the analysis was not enough to make a difference and we used it for a long time. The long term effects of using it will only be the Phosphorus levels. | |
