North Central, NC | Biggest negative to me is the compaction. I put it on some ground over the winter because one of the neighbors had extra and it was offered to me free. I put it on while the ground was frozen solid actually having to work during the night to make sure the ground was solid enough to support me without making tracks. If not winter then after a wheat crop or dead of summer when the ground is hard would be as good. As far as the nitrogen Ive heard that it is and organic form of which only 10-15% becomes available each year. I can tell you for a fact where ive spread it the ground is already greener(pasture) and where the pile was sitting the ground all around it is black green where it has leached down through the ground. I would want to see a sample also to see the heavy metals content also. The soil samples will tell the tale in the end though
