Clark SD | Have been checking the frost line in a field that was worked last fall. Last week the frost line was at about 18.75 inches and when i checked yesterday it was at 14 inches.
On sunday i installed a data logger with one sensor at 11 inches deep, then when i found that the frost line moved up i put it down to 13.5 inches deep at 11:00 AM.
In the following chart it compares the soil temperature at 12 inches deep in wheat stubble with the worked ground.
