No, SF1 is NOT waas. It is Deere's proprietary basic signal similar to SF2 but at no subscription cost and not as accurate. But more accurate than waas.

You can plant corn ok with SF1, but there will be some drift, especially when you stop and then re-start when loading seed or whatever. Should be able to shift track back on line if you dropped a mark, or line up where you already planted.

SF2 will be accurate within a couple inches with very little drift. RTK will put you back in the same seed slot a month later.

We plant with RTK, and I sprayed corn post last year with SF1 on our 4730 sprayer and stayed between the rows with only an occasional shift.

If I were going to plant with SF1, I would still use markers as well.
