Earliest anyone has planted corn around here is May 5, too much risk of frost before that. Last year I planted some for a neighbour June 5 that still made silage but my corn that went in on May 15th was a lot better. Varieties are 72-76 day. Everything here is for silage or cob meal, no corn varieties early enough to consistently make grain with our season. We are on the edge but it makes good dairy feed so we keep growing it.
