Ha Ha.  Yeah, alot of the old-timers are like that around here.  Some of it depends on where you are.  In some areas, the farmers are more prosperous and if you don't have the right pedigree or level of income they probably aren't going to do business with you.  Either way, they expect you to look like you are successful enough to belong.  

In other areas, the farmers are smaller and more old-school, and they don't want anyone to make a dime off them.  They want to look poor and expect everyone else to as well.  I know guys who are multi-millionaires that you'd mistake for a farm hand if you didn't know them because they dress so poor.  

In reality, if a salesman puts 50,000 miles a year on a truck, it doesn't make sense financially to keep it too long.  The repair costs and downtime can really hurt productivity.
