Sourthern WI | I'm assuming they checked the simple stuff...replaced fuel filters and checked to make sure the suction and return lines are free? Also have them look at the flow diagram for the fuel system. I don't recall if the low pressure pump on the fuel header above the filters feeds the dosing system or if the two are in parallel. If the low pressure pump feeds it, then it could be the low pressure lift pump or the return flow from the common rail system is too high causing excessive draw. They should be able to check return flow to make sure it's within specification.
If it's been aborting regens due to low fuel pressure, then the DPF may be plugged causing it to call for more regens than normal. Get the fuel system problem fixed, let it do a few normal and complete regens, then tackle that problem if it continues. | |
