I seeded 30 ac. of annual rye and radish's 3rd week od September into worked ground with drill. Haven't seen them yet, but landlord says the rye looks good. A neighbor seeded annual rye with plane into standing beans in 1st week of September and what came up then looks good now. Not sure about seeding with plane yet. I do know we had snow cover about all winter which is highly unusual here. Very cold with ground froze much deeper than it has in a while. Snow cover must have helped. Knock on wood, I have yet to have a big winter kill on any cover crop. There I just did myself in! Did you have snow cover all winter? I'm guessing that may have a lot to do with it.
