Subject: RE: anyone priced 36' Drying bins lately?

Cherokee County, Northwest Iowa
FWIW, a couple of my thoughts:

1. Pass on vertical unloading auger.

2. Try to come up with a system without using stirrators.

3. Build bin foundations high enough so that when the bin sinks or the surrounding ground rises up, can still get a truck auger under there easily.

4. "Boog"'s last 2 paragraphs above.

5. Six years ago I went from 2 30'batch drying bins with stirrators to a 30' Shivver's type bin system, and installed a roof auger over existing storage bins to transfer corn to drying bins. Should have done it years earlier.

6. sometimes a little (or unfortunately, more than a little) extra paid upfront and early will pay off big time decades later. Whatever you decide to do will probably cost more in the future, so if in doubt, bite the bullet and buy it now-will only cost more later. Best of luck to you. Bruce.
