Elsmore, Kansas | In Allen county KS are still 40+ but there was already a very mild frost on the wheat and the thermometer in the pickup said 32. My best wheat has the head about 3" off the soil surface and my later wheat has the head just about an inch up the stem. March 28 planted corn is spiking to 1" tall and most of the rest is just spiking or about to pop thru and soil temps at 1" deep are running 44. I'm not super worried about the wheat or the corn but I sure hope it doesn't get much past 25-26 for very dang long. | |
