3 phase might be marginaly cheaper to run, it's going to depend on your power company and there rates. But there are other factors to consider. Do you plan on ever expanding at that location? You'll find the panels (breaker boxes) to be quite a bit more for 3 phase, but the cost of wire will be way less as you can use much smaller gauge wiring.

Also, if you go to 3 phase, I highly recommend 480 v 3 phase. They also have 240 v 3 phase, but you won't realize the cost savings of smaller wire with the low voltage 3 phase.

Also, the 3 phase motors should last much longer then single phase motors.
