Subject: RE: What to do about underground gas line may come through my farm

NW Ohio
What everyone has said is pretty good. My only word of caution don't fight it too hard or demand too much. I personally got burned by this once with a cell phone tower, I wanted nothing to do with it, didn't want it on my property period, and they couldn't offer enough for me to let them build it. I fought it for two reasons, one I didn't want the eye sore out my back windows, and two I didn't like that they could drive through the crop field on an easement at any time to look and do work on it. I won the battle, it's not built on my land and my crop fields were never negatively impacted, BUT I LOST THE WAR. The dang thing got built right across the property line on the neighbors land. So guess what, I still have the eyesore, but never got a penny for it. So my message is, don't get too crazy in demands, nothing will make you madder than watching the neighbors get big $$$ when you could have had a share.
