North West Missouri
Seedcleaner , the same problem as you only with rye. Intention was to make baleage but due to wet weather it was headed out{but no seed} before I could get started. Hay that was baled and wrapped in the beginning wasn't too bad. Cows would eat it but did a lot of picking thru it. Then I started seeing white yeast in the hay that was baled and wrapped later again due to rain. Neighbor whos made baleage for many years said its probably due to lower sugar content in the plant so it didn't ferment right. They put inoculant on most everything thru the baler. He says itll cover up a lot of problems for little cost. By the way my rye tested 50% moisture. Anyone know of a reasonably priced applicator for a JD 568 baler?
