If he is starting to chase cars it will not be long before he is chasing other cars. He might already be. Get a shock collar and teach him cars Hurt. If you don't those are the dogs that get Killed by cars.
I like my dogs to much to leave them run loose. I have a fenced yard and kennels for them. I know where they are when I am not home and I know they are safe.
