Morriston,Fl.
This is a good question. In my part of the world there is 20+ yrsnof continuous peanuts. With the new varieties as mace said I don't think its so much better to be twin. I've quizzed the older in the know guys and they started twin due to tswv in ga green and to get quicker ground cover for weeds ( palmer) and other problem's.
My first yr I borrowed twins and made 5000+ pnuts. 5 yrs later I'm still avg 2 tons on single 36".
I personally would like to be twin but my small operation can't justify it.
