I bet Hula's putting on a heck of a lot more fertilizer than somebody shooting for 220...

Like I said, I don't know it for a fact, those are just my feelings about it. I would bet that it likely does help, but I don't think it's a magic bullet. I also have no idea what it costs, but if they are gunshy about somebody putting the entire farm to it b/c of the cost, then it has to be somewhat substantial. So, what you have to evaluate, are the microbes providing the full benefit, or are they unlocking stored nutrients in the soil that will need replaced by commercial fertilizers at some point?

I think they probably help, but I think what helps the most is that when guys start investing big bucks into things like this, they suddenly start critically evaluating their entire system and making a tweak here, and a tweak there, and all of those things added together result in the increase.
