NE Miss | I guess you and I can just agree to disagree then. I know the N cycle forewords and backwards, did a thesis in college on NBPT, and never once read anything in any lit review or journal about NBPT disrupting microbes. Microbes only come into play in the steps between NH4 and NO2, then again between NO2 and NO3, this is if you don't count N fixing bacteria in legumes, the rest is enzyme driven. Sure, microbes feed off of organic matter, plant material and convert to energy to urea compounds naturally, but the enzymes, not microbes, converts the urea to NH4. | |
