SE South Dakota | Your problem is similiar to what I experienced during last spring's planting season. I had a new to me JD 8330 as well. I do not remember the code but the fix for mine was the wiring harness that goes out to the wheel angle sensor. At the time, after a turn the resume button would not enaged the auto-trac. Sometimes if I would "fiddle " with the steering wheel, back and forth this would cause the system to engage for that round. The part number was RE279148, cost was $167.62. It is a fairly easy to replace part. That fixed my similar to your problem. The harness looked good but must have had a flaw in it.
