What type of clutches? If they are a Trimble/TruCount (trimbata) electric clutch, cut the ground wire that goes from the solenoid to the frame of the clutch. You only want to ground back through the system, not through the frame of any sorts.
Good point. Remember the Ag Leader system feeds a constant 12V to each clutch in a system and then completes ground when the clutch should disengage to stop planting. This is the opposite of what other systems and most people would think. If using Ag Leader clutches then there shouldn't be a problem since this has been addressed with their wiring.
If trying to cycle a frame mounted clutch such as was commonly installed on Kinze planters, it is necessary to cut the ground wire to the frame as mentioned above. If not there is a direct short which would cause the fuse to blow. If this is the case the module itself may be just fine.
I did have one Kinze planter with a factory clutch that I needed to make a relay harness to get it cycle properly. The relay carried the load of disengaging the clutch so the only load on the CCM was to trigger the relay.
