North Dakota | A few things to look for when setting up a EZ-Steer, first when doing the roll cal make sure the display shows which way the cables are pointing. You have three choices, label up cables forward, label up cables back and label forward cables down. Next make sure the wheelbase measurement is for the entire wheelbase not just from the articulation joint to the center of the front axle. You can even extend that measurement by up to 1/3 to make it steer more aggressively. Last turn the angle per turn down to 12 to 14 degrees. If you get these three things right you should be able to steer within 2 inches of the commanded line 95% of the time. The only problem I have had in the past with Versatiles is the steering is a bit stiff and the EZ-Steer has a hard time turning the wheel, but if it is set right it wont wander off the line, just has a hard time coming to the line. The next problem is after the steering is working you may be off pass to pass and that is a signal problem or a roll cal problem. | |
