Ty Your idea might work, but here's been my experiences. DEFINITELY put that 460 in some kind of waterproof enclosure. Not sure what it would be, in fact I always thought Ravens would make some kind of enclosure, but I don't know of anything. The other problem I found.....turbulence! Make sure you can put that flow meter in a long straight-away area & that the air/turbulence is gone from the system. Mount the flowmeter vertically if possible...that's my suggestion. I had a Ravens 2 hundred something a few yrs back that was designed by Ravens to merely turn on-off such nurse tank flow systems as you describe & a digital flow readout. You could preset it to shut off at whatever gallon reading you wanted. But, I didn't have any enclosure for the control box & after a couple of rainstorms (happens sometimes here in summer), the box definitely suffered from water damage. Once I had it rebuilt, the second time I didn't. I then tried the newer TeeJet in-line flow meter/digital readout. Too much turbulence & also suffered from lack of constant flow rate (I use a venture inductor). It was always off by at least 20%, making it almost unusable for me. I returned it. I'm guessing others have better luck though. |
