If you do knife in fertilizer in the spring with rtk, I strongly suggest using your rtk and a well equipped planter to plant your seed 3" or 4" to the side of the fertilizer slot.

However in many conditions that is easier said than done as the planter row units fall into the fertilizer slot and won't climb out. That can be a disaster.
