Great Southern, Western Australia | I'm certainly no expert but I have spent considerable time removing, installing and modifying different X30 harnesses across our machinery, including an iT4 Mf 8680. If you can get hold of the Topcon Installation and setup guide (part No AGA 5120) it shows the installation of the tractor specific harness that has multiple other connectors, including a connection for the ASC-10. I thought it was just one of the CAN connectors, but I could be wrong. Either way, we are running an ASC-10 off that harness in the MF 8680.
It is interesting that somebody mentioned the AGCO version has none of these other connectors. It seems it may be better to specify the Topcon equivalent in new machines going forward if AGCO are going to remove some of the functionality. Our X30 originally came installed with a generic harness from the dealer. I wasn't happy with that so we installed the 'premium' harness as they called it at the time. Much neater install and more functionality. The one advantage to having the generic install harness was that I pulled it apart to 'reverse engineer' the pinouts. That comes in handy if you want to add a particular feature to a harness. For example, I added the remote steer engage function to the harness on our MT855.

For what its worth, apart from a couple major issues with the way Topcon manage field boundaries, we really like the X30. Just setting up spreader control with it now and really like that too. |
