Filling a contract is filling a contract. I don't forward contract 100% of my crop for that reason. Seed companies know months ahead of delivery date that the contract can not be filled. Seed companies figured out they can make more money by overselling and switching varieties than being truthful. Seed dealers go along so they can make more money. Not all companies do this. Some companies do it year after year. The reason for early order is so they know how much to produce, many time seed has been paid for before the winter production is planted. If they would wait until they know what production is to sell they wouldn't have this problem. Do you continue to do business with customers that doesn't pay his bill is full year after year? If not then why is it ok for your suppler not to keep their end of the contact? As long as you accept the company line of it's ok that's just how we do business you can expect to be yelled at for not keeping your word. Your rant should be at the seed company you sell for not the farmer your doing business with. Think about it who lied to you? It's not the farmers your rant about. If enough dealers would quit putting up lies and switched to companies that did deliver what they promise this practice would soon stop. Instead you are just trying to pass the buck time after time.
