Is this a liquid rig? Not that it matters much. My neighbor puts on 2 years fertilizer all the time with dry and NH3. Probably 7 inches deep and fertilizer scatters 5-7" down. Generally I'm happier the more I put in the strip. I think it would work but I'm a believer in fertilizing every crop every year. Good luck!
