Subject: RE: Nitrogen corn on corn

NE Iowa
My calcium base sats are usually right around 62%. So 62% Ca, 35% Mg, and 2.5-3% K is typical. Would like to raise my K% over time. My best yielding fields have the highest K levels. I'm torn between spending any extra $$$ on trying to reduce my Mg levels or raising my K levels. I can get elemental S (90%) for $580 a ton and have been using some in the fall the last couple years. AMS is kinda over-priced in my area. I use like 100-150# per acre as a source of S. This fall AMS was priced at around $400 per ton and urea was only $395.
