N.W. Ohio | Sorry, But I just can't figure out why you would find a 60+ y.o.farmer buying farmland when he has no one in line to take over the farm selfish. Maybe he has capital to invest and sees that he can make next to nothing in the bank, is not comfortable with outside investments as in stocks/bonds. So he chooses rather to invest his money into the one thing he knows well....farming! Why in the world is that selfish? Just because this guys kids chose not to be farmers and he has no one lined up to follow in his foot steps, is he supposed to just fade away into the sunset? Sorry, I just couldn't let that remark go uncontested! | |
