I would call and offer to help plant the crop of needed. Also let them know you would like to rent the property if it ever came available. I waited on a farm once close by and next thing you know their lawyer had a friend willing to write a cash rent check all up front and they took it. Because no one they know would have that kind of money sitting around right.
